On 31st May and 1st June European data center operator DEAC participated in annual international conference „Data centers World 2011”. The number of participants exceeded 800. „Data centers world 2011” conference was organized by publishing house „Open Systems” («Открытые системы»). The conference, already popular among IT specialists, has become not only a platform for demonstrating and discussing new products and technologies, but also a meeting place for Russian “datacenter-builders” enthusiasts.

At a plenary meeting on 31st May, the DEAC’s head of marketing and development department Oleg Naskidaev spoke as an expert with report „ Cloud computing in the context of cost optimization and business security” (download pdf). Within this report O. Naskidaev noted that the main vector of IT sphere development within next few years is a Service-oriented model Everything As A Service (EaaS), that cloud computing will ensure significant IT costs optimization with increased competitiveness, a smooth transition from CAPEX to low and projected OPEX. O. Naskidaev also mentioned DEAC strategic plans on further own cloud computing IT infrastructure development through deploying additional data centers in Europe (Latvia, Germany, Netherlands and United Kingdom) within the next 3-4 years. O. Naskidaev spoke also about data storage and customers’ infrastructure colocation in European Union data centers, which does not contradict the Russian Federal Law 152 on personal data.

During the second conference day at a section „From rack rental to cloud services”, DEAC head of marketing and development department O. Naskidaev spoke with a report „Russian customers projects implementation examples, based on DEAC data centers infrastructure” (download pdf). O. Naskidaev shared general work experience with Russian customers in over 300 projects, noting a significant increased confidence towards DEAC IT services during the last year. DEAC possibilities for Russian companies today and within next 3 years were also discussed, as well as examples of cooperation with different sphere Russian companies for the last 2 years, the main reasons of using DEAC data centers infrastructure were also stated.
