DEAC participated in international conference „Data centers world 2012” in Moscow as a leading cloud computing IT expert
On 30th and 31st May European data center operator DEAC participated in annual international conference „Data centers World”. The number of participants was around 800. During the conference DEAC spoke with 2 reports on cloud computing, shared the plans of opening new data centers in Europe and answered many conference visitors’ questions at DEACs’ stand. One of the main DEAC topics was data storage and customers’ infrastructure colocation in European Union data centers, that does not contradict the Russian Federal Law 152 on personal data.
„Data centers world 2012” conference was organized by publishing house „Open Systems” («Открытые системы»). The conference, already popular among IT specialists, has become not only a platform for demonstrating and discussing new products and technologies, but also a meeting place for Russian “datacenter-builders” enthusiasts.
At a plenary meeting on 30th May, the DEAC’s director of marketing and development department Oleg Naskidaev spoke as an expert with report „Your data centers in Europe – a key to successful strategic business development”, and pointe dout the main reasons for the Russian business to use European data centers, main requirements whilst choosing the data center abroad, told about DEAC results in Russia for the last 3 years, and also mentioned DEAC strategic plans on further development.
Service-oriented model Everything As A Service (EaaS), that cloud computing will ensure significant IT costs optimization with increased competitiveness, a smooth transition from CAPEX to low and projected OPEX. O. Naskidaev also mentioned DEAC strategic plans on further own cloud computing IT infrastructure development through deploying additional data centers in Europe (Latvia, Germany, Netherlands and United Kingdom) within the next 3-4 years. O. Naskidaev spoke also about data storage and customers’ infrastructure colocation in European Union data centers, which does not contradict the Russian Federal Law 152 on personal data.
During the second conference day at a section „Data center services”, DEAC Key account manager Igor Myzgin spoke as an expert with a report „Frequent questions and problems of Russian customers – DEAC European data centers operators solutions”. I. Myzgin shared general work experience with Russian customers in over 300 projects, noting a significant increased confidence towards DEAC IT services during the last year. DEAC possibilities for Russian companies today and within next 3 years were also discussed, as well as examples of cooperation with different sphere Russian companies for the last 2 years, the main reasons of using DEAC data centers infrastructure were also stated.
For 2 days DEAC personnel have actively consulted conference participants at DEAC stand, where every participant could discuss actual issues and virtually visit DEAC European data centers by means of video trailer.
Summarizing the participation of DEAC at the event, it is worth noting, that for the Russian companies the issue of rational use of cloud IT infrastructure not only in Russia, but also in Europe is becoming more crucial. As well as providing data and business security by creating a minimum of one data storage/processing point in European data center, business continuity and IT costs optimization.
