“Data center industry in Central and Eastern Europe is experiencing rapid growth, which is encouraged by constant data volume increase, new data centers launching, as well as new possibilities to use innovative technological solutions. From 1999 DEAC helps its customers from Europe, USA, CIS countries to optimize their IT infrastructure and lower costs up to 40% within the next 3-5 years. Currently, DEAC is one of the leading experts in Eastern Europe on server solutions, virtualization and cloud computing technologies,” says DEAC CEO A. Gailitis.
DEAC representative spoke with its presentation (download it here), and told participants about the creation of largest infrastructure in the Baltics. The total area of DEAC data centers is 1800 sq.m or 630 server racks, which corresponds to the TIER I-IV power supply standards and telecommunications links scheme of DEAC data centers between East and West. As a result of popular magazine “Cnews” survey, the DEAC data centers infrastructure was enlisted among worlds largest commercial data centers - DEAC has been enlisted among worlds largest commercial data centers .
Already in 2011, the DEAC data centers infrastructure will significantly strengthen the positions of Eastern Europe data center market in the world. During the next 3 years, DEAC plans to strengthen its positions in Europe, USA and CIS countries, by introducing new IT services based on cloud computing. By opening the largest Baltic data center “Riga” in the end of 2009 and representation office in Moscow in November 2010, DEAC management made a strategic decision for the next 3 years – representation offices launch in Europe and CIS countries, and new data centers launch in Europe with total capacity of more than 1000 server racks. “ More and more customers today pay attention to ready-to-use data center solutions, that are available in the short term, and that allow to diversify risks and optimize IT costs. Recent trends show that large business is rather inclined to choose data center rental solutions, than creating own infrastructure,” illustrates A. Gailitis.
Activities of the European data center operator DEAC, which is the largest in the Baltics, are orientated to provide data center services and IT outsourcing on Eurasia and America scale in order to generate the primary or backup or additional data center customer, to protect its business and, most importantly, reduce costs up to 40% within 3-5 years. Total capacity of DEAC data centers (“Riga” and "Grizinkalns"), located in the EU and designed according to TIER IV and TIER II standards, is 630 racks or 25000 U1 servers. Encrypted direct telecommunication channels from the Latvian capital Riga to major cities of the CIS and European countries (MSK-IX, SPB-IX, UA-IX, AMS-IX, DE-CIX, LINX, LIX, etc.). The channels provide high reliability, speed and connectivity.
DEAC headquarter office in Riga and representation office in Moscow serve more than 2000 customers from 20 countries. DEAC has more than 200 projects, other projects come from Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Holland, the Baltic countries. The customers trust their data to DEAC already for over 10 years.
