DEAC shared experience at a regional data center experts summit

DEAC continues active operations in Europe’s economic environment and another step was made on 17th&18th February in Budapest, Hungary, where DEAC CEO – Andris Gailitis shared experience in data centers industry leaders discussion at Data Centres Central&Eastern Europe Regional Summit. During the event DEAC presented its data centers infrastructure, which is currently the largest in the Baltic States and is included in worlds largest commercial data centers list as by Cnews media survey. At the summit A. Gailitis informed about future DEAC plans and expressed an opinion, that DEAC data centers infrastructure will significantly strengthen Eastern Europe data centers market positions in the world already this year.

The main discussion topics of the conference were: most modern technologies and the affect of market changes on the demand of regional and international business for IT outsourcing. Conference participants could learn the most updated information on innovation technologies in data center industry, and discuss the topical themes of e-commerce & m-commerce technologies, the possibilities of video and 4G transmission etc.

“Data center industry in Central and Eastern Europe is experiencing rapid growth, which is encouraged by constant data volume increase, new data centers launching, as well as new possibilities to use innovative technological solutions. DEAC representative spoke with its presentation (download it here), and told participants about the creation of largest infrastructure in the Baltics. The total area of DEAC data centers is 1800 sq.m or 630 server racks, which corresponds to the TIER I-IV power supply standards and telecommunications links scheme of DEAC data centers between East and West. As a result of popular magazine “Cnews” survey, the DEAC data centers infrastructure was enlisted among worlds largest commercial data centers - DEAC has been enlisted among worlds largest commercial data centers .

Already in 2011, the DEAC data centers infrastructure will significantly strengthen the positions of Eastern Europe data center market in the world. During the next 3 years, DEAC plans to strengthen its positions in Europe, USA and CIS countries, by introducing new IT services based on cloud computing. By opening the largest Baltic data center “Riga” in the end of 2009 and representation office in Moscow in November 2010, DEAC management made a strategic decision for the next 3 years – representation offices launch in Europe and CIS countries, and new data centers launch in Europe with total capacity of more than 1000 server racks. “ More and more customers today pay attention to ready-to-use data center solutions, that are available in the short term, and that allow to diversify risks and optimize IT costs. Recent trends show that large business is rather inclined to choose data center rental solutions, than creating own infrastructure,” illustrates A. Gailitis.
