DEAC turnover in 2009 has increased up to 32%

DEAC, the largest data center operator in the Baltics, showed turnover results  in 2009 (2 072 197 Eur), which  is 32% more, compared to 2008 (1 577 988 EUR). Thanks to the DEAC management’s strategy, opening of the largest data center in the Baltics, new services implementation and export share significant growth – provided DEAC a positive turnover increase, even considering current economical recession.

Despite the economical recession in Latvia, DEAC managed to achieve positive annual results, thanks to the smart strategy, personnel team-work and partners support. DEAC turnover has increased up to 32%, comparing with 2008 (1 577 988 Eur), in 2009 – 2 072 197 Eur. Major part of the turnover (60%) is formed by data center services – server RACK rental, storage systems rental, 25% by hosting services and 15% by IT infrastructure services.

„Financial rate growth can be explained by several factors. Firstly, the growing demand for IT services, secondly export services share increase and of course, the opening of our new data center, the largest in the Baltics” explains DEAC CEO Andris Gailits. „More companies, concerned by business data safety, are choosing data center services,” adds A. Gailitis.

In 2009, DEAC export services share has increased greatly, three times as more than in 2008. In prospect, DEAC will keep up export services and plans to reach 50% of export services from total DEAC turnover. „New data center „Riga” and strategic cooperation development, all this will play in export favour. As an example, a recently established strategic cooperation with Russian telecommunication operator „Synterra” is a safe telecommunication bridge between Baltics and Russia”, adds A. Gailitis.

„All this, along with constantly developing technologies, should serve well for our further development. Our partners and customers will get new opportunities for transit business from Europe to Asia. Now our Eurasian customers will have a direct connection to international internet traffic exchange points in Frankfurt, Stockholm, London, Moscow, St. Peterburg, Riga and other major cities. Customers can store their data and IT infrastructure partly in Latvia, partly in other countries, thus decreasing the risks in case of data-loss,” says A. Gailitis.
