IT directors took a course towards DEAC European data centers
“2011 last large IT directors summit have determined the trends for the upcoming years for large and medium business: cloud computing, IT solutions that provide operational costs optimization (OPEX) and enhancing business efficiency, and European data centers, that bring business stability to a new quality level - those issues were pointed out by CIO Summit participants. The event took place at Bor complex near Moscow on 2nd to 4th of October 2011. Besides the above mentioned trends, among event’s topics were also - the practical realization of IT projects, increased energy efficiency, the mobility and security of IT processes, and the role of IT directors in a modern company.
„DEAC participation in CIO Summit 2011 confirmed DEAC‘s opinion of an intense interest of large and medium business to invest in the environment that allows to increase business stability by colocating business data and IT infrastructure partly in European data centers“ points our Andris Gailitis, European data center operator DEAC‘ CEO.
The report „ Main demand reasons of business in distributed network of data centers of European data centers operator DEAC“ at a plenary meeting, and report „European data centers operator DEAC‘s cloud computing in the context of cost optimization and business security“ at a section „Applying cloud computing – challenges and perspectives„ – have shown the problems of setting up business stability. Particularly, one of the key elements for business stability – information security, the main benefits in colocation IT infrastructure of customer in European data centers were strongly outlined during the event.
Many IT directors were glad to hear, that DEAC data centers infrastructure does not contradict the Federal law „About personal data“ (FZ-152). „After consulting lawyers and IT consultants we made a conclusion, that the usage of DEAC services does not simplify nor complicates the personal data operator attestation process for companies and allows business to look out for foreign data centers“, says Olegs Naskidajevs, European data centers operator DEAC representative.
